Two Hooded day!

Its not all that often that we catch Hooded Warblers here at Kiptopeke. The average since 1994 is only three a season, so it came as a nice surprise when we banded two Hooded's on the the 18th Sept. What was even better was that we had both male and female. Always nice to see the differences between the two. Both of them were hatch year birds. Since it is still Sept, I am hopeful that we will catch a few more of these gems! The highest total for a season in the last 14 years has only been 7, so if we do catch more, it will not me many. So we enjoyed both of these and sent them on their way.
