Finally, Eastern Kingbirds

So Eastern Kingbirds are not a very common capture but they usually are annual. We have been averaging about 4 per season over the last ten years. But we had not caught any up until the 30th Aug. It has actually been a bit frustrating because after banding everyday I head back to the CVWO house which is on the Eastern Shore of Virginia NWR and there are hundreds there feeding on all the fruiting trees and bushes there. But at the park, there have been very few. So it was nice to finally catch some. And like usual, when we catch one, we usually catch more. And Saturday was no different. By the end of the day, we had banded 6 kingbirds.
Although this isn't the best picture to so all the identifying features of Eastern Kingbirds, this picture captures the attitude they possess!
